Beggartick - Beeswax Votive
Each Votive is made with local 100% beeswax, and finished with pressed native/naturalized flowers and greenery that either grow in my lovingly wild yard or in the wild spaces around me.
For me, these candles are an excellent expression of the seasons and a wonderful way to celebrate the passing of one season into the next. I make new candles every season, collecting and pressing flowers and greenery that are abundant around me. In my own home, I burn my decorated candles at the end of the season, as if celebrating the passing of time by ritually letting the plants go.
***Always burn candles on a non flammable surface. Use a candle plate to catch wax drips***
FAQS
*Why does it look like my candle is covered in white powder/film?
This is called bloom and it's a good way to know that the candles are 100% beeswax. It occurs naturally over time and can be wiped off if it bothers you.
*They are too pretty, I don't want to burn them!
Celebrate the fleeting beauty! Since the flowers are dried and pressed into the candle with no color preservative, they will eventually fade. I find it takes 1-2 years depending on how much light they are exposed to. Once this happens, you won't feel so bad about it!
*Do you offer any scents?
No, I prefer the very subtle honey scent of beeswax and stay away from artificial scents that can cause many people respiratory issues. Did you know beeswax candles clean the air while they are burning?
*Should I throw away the extra wax?
No! You can use it in so many ways, even combining the wax from a few candles to make a new one! If you end up with a large collection, email me about trading it in for a new candle.
